Here in Canada, wonton soup is a quintessential Chinese take-out staple food. We recently learned how to make these delicately flavored bite-size morsels (almost) from scratch and we prepared them in a number of ways. Enjoy the photos!

Wontons (as pictured above)

Delicious pork-filled wontons that are delicious when fresh, but also freeze very well.

1 package wonton wrappers
1 lb ground pork, seasoned with salt and pepper
1 egg
1 green onion, sliced thin
1 tsp ginger paste
2 tblsp corn starch
2 tblsp soy sauce

In a medium size mixing bowl, add ground pork and cut in all ingredients.
Fill each wonton wrapper with approximately 1 tsp filling.
Fold and wrap as shown above, or use your own wrapping technique!
Boil, fry, or steam and serve with some plum or sweet and sour sauce.
